I watched the 24 until S07E06. The screenwriters’ ideas are just too … outside the box.

How is it possible? The terrorists just grab a guy in the street, and force the guy to make an electronic device (so much like a modem) by HAND in 1 HOUR, and then the terrorists can use the device to take control of the entire U.S.’s air traffic, the power grid and the nuclear plant.

Can they stop the attack? After discussed by a team of computer “specialists”, the answer is NO, because they need weeks to re-program the firewall. Holy shit, can they just banning the attacker’s IP address or banning all the incoming request from some specific address field? Even an high school student is capable of doing that, but they are not.

Is the president some kind of idiot? Instead of withdrawing the troops, she can just choose to order the army to launch the attack in Sangala immediately, and use this to blackmail Dubaku to hand over the critical device. Or, as a second option, she can give Dubaku the fake satellite images(the terrorists request to do so), to show that the troops are already retreated. However, the president did none of them.

The bureaucrats always blame Jack Bauer for torturing terrorists, but have they ever consider what the situation will be like when Jack Bauer didn’t torture any terrorist that he had tortured? Actually, if Jack hasn’t done that, the U.S. is ruined for 6 times (there are 6 seasons before this one). So, considering this fact, do they still have the right (self-respect) to blame Jack?
